Where projects go wrong
A construction site is the worst possible place to discover an integration fault. The programme is at its tightest, the trades are stacked on top of each other, and the people who can fix it are somewhere else.

As part of our standard programme all our systems are fully staged and fully commissioned off-site prior to project delivery — this includes full integration testing with the running firmware, finalised release candidate software and completed graphics.
The systems are built, commissioned and programmed at our Lisburn facility and the stakeholders invited to witness them ensuring that any anomalies found with either the equipment specified or user experiences are addressed prior to site delivery.
This de-risks and accelerates the programme leaving only optimisation and tuning of the building for onsite.

The eight-phase test regime
- 01Signal Flow Path TestTest all audio, video data and control signals to ensure system infrastructure.
- 02Alpha TestTest repeatable program logic flows on sample zones. Initial testing of bespoke logic.
- 03System Test (In-House or 3rd Party Visit)Test integration with 3rd party systems.
- 04Beta TestFull system test of all zones and devices.
- 05First Stage — CommissioningReport created of any bugs found. Bugs fixed and re-tested.
- 06Second Stage — CommissioningReport created of any bugs found. Bugs fixed and re-tested.
- 07Black Out TestTest system impact of partial device reboots and full power cycle.
- 082 Week Soak TestSystem left to run for 2 weeks with intermittent testing. Release Candidate Test.
The regime ends with a two-week soak test — the system left running with intermittent testing until it earns release candidate status. Only then does it ship.
Witness testing
Stakeholders are invited to Lisburn to witness their systems running. Factory acceptance testing is carried out against the finalised design, with the client, consultant and contractor in the room.
